Let's take a moment to appreciate
the things that have been
happening in your life recently.
Today's theme is appreciating
moments of connection.
As always, if you would like
to journal along, you can pause
after each prompt to give yourself
more time to write and reflect.
First, let's take a deep breath in.
And out.
In times of loneliness, busyness,
or isolation, it can be difficult
to feel truly connected to others.
We can go through our days without
really noticing those around us.
When we take time to pay attention to the
ways we can foster and receive connection,
we expand our awareness of those around
us, while also opening ourselves to
experiencing a deeper sense of belonging.
Think of an interaction today where you
felt seen, appreciated, or cared for.
It could have been with someone
you know well, with a coworker
or even with a complete stranger.
It could be simple, a genuine
shared smile, a thoughtful
gesture, or a kind word.
Even if it was very brief, take some
time to think about what was happening
and replay the moment in your mind.
What was going on right before?
What made the moment possible
and how it influenced your day?
What did it feel like to share a
moment of human connection like this?
What felt significant about it to you?
What would it be like to be the initiator
of moments of brief connection like this?
Now with this in mind,
repeat the following phrases:
Thank you for this moment of feeling seen.
Thank you for the person who chose
to care for me in this simple way.
Thank you for all the ways in
which we belong to each other.
Thank you for the invitation to
show others that they belong too.
To end this session, let's
take a deep breath in.
And out.
