Let's take a moment to appreciate

the things that have been

happening in your life recently.

Today's theme is appreciating new places.

As always, if you would like

to journal along, you can pause

after each prompt to give yourself

more time to write and reflect.

First, let's take a deep breath in.

And out.

We often move in routines throughout

the week, home work, school, errands.

It's not unusual for us to go

through our days on autopilot,

barely noticing what's around us.

But every now and then we come across

a place that grabs our attention,

makes us pause and take notice.

When we make these new discoveries

we're being invited to come out

of autopilot and be more present

to our lives and our surroundings.

Think of a recent place that's

felt like a new discovery.

It could be a neighborhood you hadn't

explored, a new coffee shop or pub,

or a park you hadn't noticed before.

Where were you?

What were the sights, sounds

and smells around you?

What was the first thing you

noticed about the place that

made you stop and pay attention?

What was it like to come across a

place that felt brand new to you?

What thoughts came to the surface?

Now with this in mind,

repeat the following phrases:

Thank you for the moments and

discoveries that call me to awaken.

Thank you for the gift

of wonder and surprise.

Thank you for places that bring

me to an awareness of my senses.

Thank you for the opportunity to

reconnect with my sense of adventure and

curiosity in the midst of my routines.

To end this session, let's

take a deep breath in.

And out.
