Let's take a moment to appreciate

the things that have been

happening in your life recently.

Today's theme is appreciating

the gift of new perspectives.

As always, if you would like

to journal along, you can pause

after each prompt to give yourself

more time to write and reflect.

First, let's take a deep breath in.

And out.

Mindfulness often reveals to us how

easy it is to get stuck in our own

ways of seeing, thinking, and reacting.

The more we start paying attention

to each moment, the more we realize

that much of what we think of as

reality is really just a story that

we have about what's happening.

The moment we encounter a new

perspective then is a true gift.

Think of a conversation, book,

or encounter that offered

you a brand new perspective.

What was going on in that moment?

What surprised you about this moment that

made you consider a new way of seeing?

What was challenging about it?

How did you feel in your body when

you took on this new understanding?

Now with this in mind,

repeat the following phrases:

Thank you for the moments that

bring an awareness of myself,

others, and the world around me.

Thank you for the ways that new

perspectives challenge my old stories.

Thank you for the ways that

mindfulness can shift my way of seeing

and responding to the unfamiliar.

Thank you for the opportunity

to expand my vision and deepen

my experience of the world.

To end this session, let's

take a deep breath in.

And out.
