Mindfulness 101: A Beginner's Guide
Hello, dear friend.
Over the last two decades, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with a variety of gifted mindfulness teachers. And I’ve found that the ones who impacted me the most weren’t just talented. They were also humble and kind people. Their teachings were infused with genuine care and relatable, down-to-earth humanity.
I believe that these kinds of authentic truth-tellers are exactly what the world needs right now, which is why I’ve been working on the Mindfulness.com app.
Right now (maybe more than ever) I believe that we need to develop the qualities of presence, calm, and inner strength. These are the foundational tools we need to create more enlightened ways of doing business, leading our families, and coexisting with each other and the planet.
And this is exactly what the Mindfulness.com app will help us do. I’ll show you next week. :)
Today, I’d like to introduce you to my co-host in the app. My dear friend, Cory Muscara.
He’s lived as a monk in Burma (meditating 14-20 hours a day), spent years teaching mindfulness-based leadership at Columbia University, and currently serves as an Assistant Instructor for the Positive Psychology Graduate Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He’s a bestselling author, captivating keynote speaker, and leads mindfulness workshops and retreats all over the world. But here’s what I love most about Cory:
He’s one of the most authentic and big-hearted humans I’ve ever met.
He also has a rare gift for taking complex concepts and translating them into everyday language we can all relate to. His down-to-earth teaching style and sense of humor will have you smiling in your seat as you listen along.
You’ll see more from him inside the Mindfulness.com app. Until then, Cory has created a free practice just for you. It’s a four-minute practice that will help you cultivate an inner glow of happiness right where you are - something I think we all need right now.
With love and best wishes,
Melli
