One of the most important things we can do each night to prepare the mind and body for a good-quality sleep is give ourselves time to wind down. When we work late into the evening, do intense exercise after sundown, or stare into our TV or phone screen until we fall asleep, we’re engaging in habits that awaken the brain more (and often activate stress instead of relaxation). We know this isn’t ideal if we want to feel rested the next day, yet these habits can be tough to interrupt.
If you’re looking to incorporate calming, restful activities that soothe the mind before bedtime, why not try out nighttime journaling?
We hope you enjoy writing with these prompts in the evenings to come! Remember, bedtime journaling doesn’t have to take a long time. Just 5 to 10 minutes can bring a meaningful shift in your state of mind.
Explore our articles, expert tips, and guided meditations to help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep through the night.
