Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about the relationship between having dreams and your wellbeing. What I see for a lot of people is getting very excited about the dreams that they have in their life, the person that they want to become, what they're excited about, what they can build. I'm a huge fan of, of having dreams. At the beginning of every year, I take time to figure out what I want this year to look like, what I might want the next five years, 10 years to look like.
Then use that future vision to, to really inspire me for how I want to live in the present moment. And so I think a lot of times within the mindfulness community or when we're first getting into mindfulness, we might perceive having a dream about the future as antithetical to being in the present moment. That's not my opinion. I think dreams and future orientation can inspire a certain relationship in the present moment. And at the same time, if we're putting all of our eggs in the basket of, when I reached this dream, then I'll be happy, that's where we might want to just hit the brakes for a moment and use it as an opportunity to pause and reflect.
Because the reality is is that not all of your dreams will come true, but many of them may. Since we don't know how things are going to unfold, as it relates to our dreams, what if we aimed to appreciate living a life that is aligned with our highest values and in pursuit of our highest growth? All of that can be inspired by the dreams that we create for ourselves. But instead of feeling like I won't be happy until I get there, we're, we're appreciating the energy and the intention that arises in pursuit of that dream. And in that way, it allows us to work towards something, work toward a goal, a life. And if we get there, wonderful, amazing.
There's a few things that often feel better than actually getting to the place that we've worked so hard for. But if we don't that's okay too, because it wasn't so much about that, the attainment of that dream, but it was what that dream meant for us and what it asked of us and who we've had to become in order to move toward that dream. So I hope that gives you something to think about, adds a little bit more nuance as you consider holding a dream for your happiness and what happiness along the way in pursuit of that dream could look like. Thanks so much for your practice and let's settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
