Hi, welcome to your Daily Mindfulness.

Sp let's just take a moment to pause in

the midst of everything that's going on.

Just pausing and noticing how

present are you right now?

Are you really here?

Or is your mind off somewhere

else lost in thinking, perhaps

about the past or the future?

Just landing here, if you can.

You know, we're especially prone to

getting caught up in a haze of thoughts

about the future, the problems that

need solving, the next item on our

never-ending to-do list, the next event

on our overly full calendar of things.

And there's often this subtle feeling

that if you can just get to the

next thing, you're finally going

to feel satisfied, good enough.

But when we do have that feeling

of satisfaction, how long does

it last before we're off thinking

about the next thing, again, losing

touch with life in the moment.

But when we do allow ourselves to arrive

fully here and now, when we open to it

just as it is, we practice resting in

a greater awareness and we're allowing

ourselves to step out of the tyranny

of the mind with its endless desires

and melodramas and just resting in

awareness, resting at one with life.

And when we let go of the domain of

doing and enter the domain of being,

we also tap into our innate qualities

of wisdom, kindness, and peace.

And in this way, mindfulness keeps

awakening us not only to the aliveness

and the mystery that can be found in this

timeless moment we call now, but this

waking up can catalyze a totally different

way of being and acting in the world.

And we become more and more like islands

of wisdom and peace in a chaotic world.

So just pausing now, eyes open or

closed, and just taking a mindful pause

here together for the next few moments.

So just sitting here, resting in presence.

pause like this, just for a few moments,

dropping out of doing and into presence.

awakening in the middle of it all.
