Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness.

You know, the human mind has such a

strong tendency to make us feel that

our fulfillment, our completeness,

our salvation always lies in

the future, never here and now.

And when we're caught up in that state

of mind, we find ourselves always

trying to get somewhere else, but never

really arriving fully where we are.

You know, we rush through our moments,

treating them more as a means to an end

instead of actually living them fully.

You know, we end up running, striving,

pushing, awaiting for it all to work out.

We become restless, disconnected,

driven, and stressed.

But the truth is you don't need to

wait till you get there or sort it

all out or reach your potential in

order to be at peace and happy today.

Of course, this is not to say

that we shouldn't have plans

and go for the things we want.

Of course, we will have plans and

goals, but we can hold them lightly

and keep our primary focus on living

in a more present centered way.

So if you find yourself waiting for the

future to fulfill you, remember, you don't

need to get there or become something

more or better to be whole and complete.

All you need to do is show

up and be present each moment

each day, as best you can.

And trust that when you do that, you'll

be able to respond to what arises,

learn, grow, and create as needed.

Think of it as a continuous dance with

life instead of a race to the finish line.

And when you live in this more

present, focused and fluid way, you

free yourself from the paralysis of

perfectionism, the rigidity of needing

to know and the desperate attempts

to try and get control of it all.

Instead, you can relax and be

wholeheartedly present with

what's happening in the here

and now in your life today.

And despite what your mind may

try to convince you, you don't

need to wait until you've become

acquired, achieved and fixed it all.

So today, may you remember,

fulfillment really isn't a

destination someplace in the future.

You don't need to wait for your life to
