Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today we're going to talk about how when we train in bringing kindness into our meditation, it can be truly and deeply transforming. So I'm going to offer you an analogy for this. Imagine living in a house with someone who was constantly following you around the house, criticizing you, berating you and judging you. I mean, you can imagine the energy of that house becoming quite tense, uneasy, and quite frankly, demoralizing.
Well, it's been said that our true home is our minds because although we can leave our houses, we carry our minds with us wherever we go. And as much as we might try it to escape it, numb it or struggle with it, it's always with us. And many of us are living with constant unease and restlessness within, a sense of inner discord, because that inner voice is really harsh and mean. But through cultivating a more friendly attitude towards ourselves, we can change our inner world into a place of ease, rest, and kindness. So to continue the analogy, imagine your minds could become like a house with a warm, crackling fire, and a loving, supportive friend to live with.
Someone who speaks to you with respect and kindness, who's always there for you when you're down. This home is a home filled with laughter, love, compassion and coziness. So this analogy illustrates the kind of drastic change that can happen in the minds when we practice mindful self compassion. It's a pathway to feeling truly at home within ourselves. And of all the mental training I've done in my own life, these are the skills that have made the biggest difference for me personally, a truly profound change actually.
So in today's meditation, I'll guide you through a way to train the inner voice, to be more like the voice of a supportive friend than an inner critic. So let's settle in and give that a try. And as always thank you for your practice and your presence here.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.

Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
