Hi, welcome back to

your Daily Mindfulness.

In today's session, we're going

to talk about the relationship

between change and discomfort.

So to become a person who has new habits,

new patterns, values, this all will

involve inevitably some discomfort.

Because what it requires is expanding

outside your familiar walls,

experiencing new and unpredictable

territory and redirecting old patterns

that you've previously relied on

for your perceived safety and love.

In many ways, it's like a metamorphosis.

And if we expect the process to feel the

same way we currently feel, we're most

likely going to sabotage our growth.

So regardless of what sort of change

path you're on, what sort of personal

growth you're going through, the

thing is just really important to

keep in mind that it's inevitable that

this will involve some discomfort.

And I'm not saying that we have

to ask for the discomfort or we

have to glorify the discomfort.

There's some discomfort that

we realize, you know what?

I'm not willing to take this

on, or I need a break right now.

But if you are feeling some discomfort

and you are getting discouraged by

it, I hope you can also hold the

perspective that there really isn't

any way to change yourself on a

deep level without some discomfort.

So maybe it, instead of it being a

sign that something is off, it's also

a sign that you're on the right path.

You have to use your own discernment

around that, but I just want

to offer this perspective for

whatever you might be navigating.
