Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. Today, we're going to talk about changing our patterns. So you might have noticed that you have some patterns that you keep falling into over and over again. And it may be frustrating. I t's first important to remember that many of these patterns were created during times when we needed control predictability or safety.

Often when we were very young and they continue to this day. So what do we do? Well when the pattern arises, take a breath, smile at it, reminded that you're safe and say instead of our usual routine, can you help me try something new? And do you see how this is different? Instead of fighting the energy of this recurring pattern, you're meeting it, you're relaxing into it. You're even appreciating it and then redirecting it. As I said, we have to remember that this was put in place by a younger version of ourselves often, much younger, and it was trying to help. It's still thinks it's trying to help.

It has a positive intention, but it's just no longer relevant to the context. Instead of getting mad at the pattern, start by appreciating it. You can even visualize the pattern as a younger version of yourself. See that it's doing its best to protect you, to make you feel better. And then have a conversation from the newer, more resource part of you asking how all of you can work in service of the new goal, who you're trying to become.

Remember change is not about fighting who you are. It's about creating a collaborative relationship with the many dimensions of your humanness, helping you grow into who you're becoming. Thank you for your practice. I'll talk to you in the meditation and take care.
