Disconnect and Return

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today I'm going to talk about the importance of disconnecting. So even though we're living in a hyper-connected, busy world, it really is important to disconnect from it all intermittently so we can gather our attention and return it to ourselves. When we disconnect from all the external busy-ness, we can return to stillness and calm within. When we disconnect from the external noise, the media, the messages, the opinions of others, then we can hear our own inner wisdom.

When we disconnect from the noise in our mind, we can let go of the stress, anxiety, and suffering that no longer serves us. And when we disconnect from reactivity, by breathing deeply in times of overwhelm, we ground ourselves in strength and peace. My invitation today is just to remember that when you're seeking clarity, calm, restoration, or perspective, remember you can disconnect in order to return to yourself, to awareness and to the present moment. You can disconnect and return again and again and again. And as always thank you for your practice and your presence here with us in this community.

Inviting you now to settle in for today's meditation.
