Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about life purpose. The first thing I want to say about this is that relentlessly adhering to a life purpose that you previously declared for yourself can actually prevent you from feeling what is most alive and true in you right now. So my invitation for you to explore is what if your life purpose was more fluid than it was fixed? How would it change your relationship to finding your purpose? How would it change your relationship to your current sense of purpose? How would it change the pressure you feel to figure out that one thing that you're supposed to do with your life? And how would it change the way you listen to what feels most true in you in each moment, rather than having to refresh the story of who you are and what you're supposed to do that has more to do with a past self than your current self? We're inundated with all of these different ideas about what it means to have a life of purpose. And a lot of them can be reduced to being this thing that we need to uncover.
And once we uncover it, that's our thing and we have to live the rest of our life that way. It doesn't always go that way. For some people, that might be true. But for most, it tends to be more fluid. And something that might be true and feel purposeful at one stage in your life might feel very different at another stage.
And that's true from day to day as well. In fact, you could even take each moment as your purpose. Being in this moment fully, deeply, richly, and inhabiting it with as much honesty and love as you can. That's a beautiful life purpose. And it's very different than the usual ideas of finding that thing and having to stick to that thing.
If that works for you, great. But I hope this gives you another way to think about purpose and perhaps a little bit more ease if you're struggling to find that one thing that's supposed to be your life purpose. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.

Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about life purpose. The first thing I want to say about this is that relentlessly adhering to a life purpose that you previously declared for yourself can actually prevent you from feeling what is most alive and true in you right now.
