From Separation to Reconnection

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness.

Today, we're going to explore

how mindfulness takes us from

separations to reconnection.

So as we're going about normal daily life,

we're mostly caught up in doing mode and

therefore we're caught up in thinking.

But when we pause to meditate, we

reconnect with the experience of

being and therefore we reconnect

to ourselves and to life, the

life within us and all around us.

So as we sit in meditation and

step out of being caught in our

thinking, we soften the sense of

separation between ourselves and life.

As we feel our beating hearts, our

breathing lungs, and watch our emotions

and thoughts passing through us like the

weather passes through the sky and the

sounds pass through the silence, we allow

ourselves to be part of nature again, part

of the earth, part of the whole universe.

In those moments, there's really not

much of a sense of a separate self.

It's not you and life.

It's just one life and you are it.

And as soon as we remember this, then

we can never be alone again because we

can feel our belonging in our bones.

And at the same time, we can feel

that we are a part of something

much larger than ourselves.

And Black Elk once said, "Peace will

come to the hearts of men when they

realize their oneness with the universe.

It's everywhere."

So as we continue to pause and

reconnect through mindfulness, we

gradually reclaim this peace in our

hearts, as well as a kind of sense

of meaning and purpose within life.

It sort of becomes part of who we

are and how we experience and live

every moment throughout the day.

So with that in mind, I invite you

to join me for today's meditation

practice, where we'll continue

this contemplation on reconnection.

So as always thank you for your

practice and your presence here with us.

And let's settle in.
