Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, I'm going to share a new word with you, querencia. Querencia means a place where you feel safe and at home, where you are your most authentic self, a place from which your strength is drawn. I really love this word. I came across it recently and it made me think of recharging myself, especially that, that last part of that definition, a place from which your strength is drawn.

I know a handful of places in my life that are physical places, but also places that I go to internally, where I recharge myself, where I reconnect to my different strengths, where if I'm depleted, I can go to restore. Some of these are physical locations, as I said. Places within my apartment or places nearby. Walking trails, that when I go there, there's a, there's a sense of it's okay to be me. It's okay to let down my guard.

It's okay to, to go slowly. And something about that is restorative. And it's also made me think of other times in my life where I didn't have that as much. And it kept me in more of a stressed out state. So I don't know where you are in your life or how you might relate to the idea of having a place like this, a querencia.

But my encouragement today, is to explore what that could look like in your life and what it could look like to reconnect to those places more frequently. A place where you feel safe and at home, where you are your most authentic self, a place from which your strength is drawn. The beautiful thing about what we're doing here in these practices is that where we're developing that place internally. But we also need to recognize that those external locations are really important. Our environment absolutely informs how we feel internally, the sense of safety we can experience here.

And so I encourage you to look at the places around you that you do go to, to feel safe and at home, where you do go to, to restore and replenish yourself. And specifically, where can you go, a place you can go from which your, your strength is drawn, where you reconnect to that. Life is ebbing and flowing, and we have to go into experiences that can be uncomfortable periodically. And it's important when we step out of those that we can come back to something, where we can be ourselves, where we can feel authentic and where we can replenish. So take some time today to assess what that might look like for you, and also have maybe a plan for how you can connect to those places more frequently in your life.

I think it'll go a really long way for helping your mindfulness journey and also leading to more wellbeing and contentment in your life. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.
