Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, I want to talk about the process of integrating feedback. So I've talked about this in past daily mindfulness sessions, which is that we are humans living among other humans. And because of that, it is important that we're hearing perspectives from those around us. Then that often helps us figure out what our own foggy spots are and what we're not seeing in ourselves and patterns that we're not aware of.
We often need that feedback to see that more clearly. And it's an important part of our growth. But it's also important to remember that just because someone gives you feedback doesn't mean you need to accept it as truth. And a lot of people have different ideas around what you should do and who you should be. And if we were to take all of that, well, then we're no longer orienting to any sort of internal mechanism of who we are and how we want to respond to the world.
So integrating feedback requires the humility to recognize that you don't know everything and the self-worth to remember that you do know many things. And striking this balance allows us to interact with the information that's coming us, coming at us in a way that we can listen to it, but then choose to adopt it if it makes sense to where we are at this point in time. So as you are navigating your own self and your own needs in a world of others with needs, see if you can hold this perspective. Specifically, that can I have the humility to recognize that I don't know everything, but also the self-worth to remember that I do know many things. Thank you for your practice.
