Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today we'll explore how to infuse more awareness into your day-to-day life by leaning into the little moments. So have you ever noticed how it's often the little moments in life that provide some of the greatest feelings of contentment and happiness. A cup of coffee, a hug, a beautiful piece of music, the feeling of the sun on your skin. But have you also noticed that it's often in those little moments that we have a tendency to just kind of like tune out and lose awareness? Sometimes we just start going through the motions or we're multitasking, or we just stop paying true attention.
You know, there's that feeling of familiarity. We've done this before. We can have this habit of just overlooking the preciousness and the beauty of each passing moment. Now, of course, it's not at all that we deliberately set out to do this. It's just that we get so caught up basically in our thinking.
So we miss it, but if we can start to slow down a little and pay attention to, and appreciate the smaller things that happen throughout the day, we can maintain a lot more awareness in daily life. Like this might be as simple as waking up in the morning and taking a moment to feel the softness of the sheets against your skin and just appreciating that for a few moments. It might be really savoring the taste of your coffee in the morning. Who doesn't want to do that. It might be really taking in the beauty of the trees or the flowers on your way to work, or really savoring that hug from someone you love.
There are so many opportunities each day to lean into and really wake up to, and appreciate and enjoy the little moments of the day. So when we do that, what we might realize is that we have more richness and beauty in our life than we previously thought. And as we start to move from one little moment of wakefulness and appreciation to the next, we might start to find a lot more stability in that way of being, it really sort of begins to infuse throughout our whole day and our whole life. And we might also see, in the words of Jon Kabat-Zinn, the little moments, they're not little. They are your life.
So today I invite you to lean into the little moments and see what effect that has on your mind and on your life. So as always thank you for your practice and for your presence here. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead. And now let's settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
