Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about holding on. Have you ever found yourself holding onto a lifestyle that you only partially like? You have some sense that it's not working for you anymore, and yet you're still not able to let go, to change. Why does this happen? Well, one reason for this is because we're still attached to the story of what this lifestyle should give us. The person, the house, the job.
We have some deep belief, perhaps established a long time ago, maybe in childhood, that this would be the thing that gives us fulfillment, even though our direct experience has told us otherwise now that we're there. This dissonance is the process of disillusionment. And it's the beginning of learning to listen to and trust a deeper, intuitive guidance. But in my experience, it can take a little while before the mind is really ready to let go. So stay with your listening process.
Eventually the pain of not listening to a deeper truth within you will be greater than the pain of staying in a partially fulfilling lifestyle. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.
