Looking Back and Forward

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about appreciating your past and also looking forward. One quote I've always appreciated even though it's a bit trite is, "This moment is the beginning of the rest of your life." "This moment is the beginning of the rest of your life." I wasn't able to find the original author of this quote. And I think it's been said in many different ways, by many different people, but the sentiment has always stuck with me. And the beauty of this is that our past is the foundation we stand on when doing the work of being in the present moment.

You are here, now. If we step out of clock time, this moment is truly a new beginning, independent of what has come before. All you have is this moment of wakefulness, of choosing to be here fully, to see clearly, to listen deeply. And it's your opportunity for personal transformation and alignment. Let your past be the ground you stand on when looking toward the next unwritten moment of your life.

This moment is the beginning of the rest of your life. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.
