Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today I'm going to talk about love. So we often think of love as something that arises within us, maybe only in relationship to another person. So we kind of make another person the object of our love, and we may feel maybe even that without the other, we won't feel that love, maybe that we even be incomplete or empty. But if we look a little bit closer, we see that the love that we feel is actually an innate quality that we've always had the capacity to draw on.
And it's something we can feel within our own selves, within our own mind, body and being. So for instance, I'd like to invite you right now to take your moment to do a reflection with me. If you care to, you might like to close your eyes. And just bringing to mind right now, someone who you love, someone who you appreciate. And you might like to imagine this person, or it could be a pet, sitting across from you and just letting yourself feel the love that you have for this person.
How much you wish for them to be safe, happy, and well. Focusing your mind and your heart now on the love that you feel for this person. And letting that love really fill your body and your being. And noticing how it feels to have this love generated in your body, mind. And now just inviting you to let this vision of the other person fade.
So just taking them out of the picture now and continuing to feel this love. Feeling the love that you generated in your own mind and body. And if you care to just continuing to generate this feeling of love or to bathe in the feelings of love that are already here, but without an object. Maybe just even having a sense of sitting here and breathing in love. And breathing out love.
And noticing that this is your love, it's innate within you. And then when you're ready, just start opening the eyes. And knowing that there is a kind of love that's unconditional, that's not dependent on anything or anyone. And we all have this love within us. We don't necessarily need it to be with another person to feel this.
And the more we practice mindfulness, the more we unhook from the thoughts and emotions that sometimes obscure our ability to feel love, the more this unconditional love starts to take up residence inside us and settle into our being like warm sunshine. So as always, thank you sincerely for your practice and your presence here with us. And inviting you now to settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
