Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts.
Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today I'm going to talk about how we can recover our natural sense of awe, wonder and joy. So I think that as many of us grow up a bit, we start to get quite busy and we also start to take them on more and more responsibility and gradually the way that we see things begins to change. Now we can start to take life pretty seriously. Very often that sense of curiosity and playfulness and wonder that most of us had when we were kids kind of starts to take a back seat.
It feels, you know, like we don't really have the space for that because there's other things that are more important. Perhaps it's not until, you know, we see a young child in that state of being that we remember what it used to be like for us. And so when we come to our mindfulness practice, we can often bring that same seriousness, that sense of duty into our practice. It can feel like this is just another thing we have to tick off the today list. But actually that curiosity, awe and wonderment is a really important part of the practice in meditation.
We want to bring an attitude of curiosity and openness to life. And we want to give ourselves a space to be fully open to and appreciative of what's right in front of us. We want to experience things more fully and richly and just let ourselves be fully absorbed, like we were, when we were kids. We can give ourselves a space to just open to the miracle and the mystery of life unfolding within and all around us. And when we do that, we recover that natural sense of awe and joy.
And we realize sometimes what a miracle it is just to be here in the unfolding of life. So seeing if you can remember to bring those qualities into your meditation and equally as much as you can into your daily life. Now If you can start to bring that that sense of appreciation and enjoyment, you start to remember that life isn't as serious as the mind often makes it out to be. If you can remain curious and open hearted, that's naturally going to bring more ease, wonder and happiness back into your life. So as always, thank you for your practice and your presence here with us.
And just inviting you now to settle in for today's meditation.
