Hey friends, welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Hey, so I just wanted to check in with you. How did you go with bringing the beginner's mind into your day yesterday? So don't worry if you forgot and if you didn't see that session that's okay. We can try this again today. In this session, we're going to explore this theme a little more.

So the beginner's mind refers to this quality of meeting our moments and our life with an attitude of openness and curiosity. You could say it's a way that we can see the world with fresh eyes. And that's important, you know, because we can so easily view the world around us through avail of judgments, beliefs, and opinions. And, you know, when we think we already know something or someone, it really does limit our capacity to truly see what is. Importantly, when we think we already know something, we often stop paying true attention, you know.

Have you ever noticed, for example, that if you traveled to a new place, you easily find yourself in a state of wonderment,at the sights and sounds and smells. But when you're in your hometown, you stop paying attention to what's there to be seen, to be felt to be known because you think you've already seen it before. So often we just tune out and we also do this to the people that are closest to us. We're so prone to not seeing them with fresh eyes and taking them for granted. And when we lose this gift of seeing things with a beginner's mind, so often we ended up missing out on the fullness, the richness and the connection that's available to us really in our daily life.

So here's the invitation. Today, see if you can bring in the beginner's mind a little bit more. Try to take in the sights, the sounds, the people and the places with fresh eyes and ears. And when you reconnect with this fresh way of being, it'll unlock your ability to be truly present for the moments of your life and the people that you love.
