Standing In Your Truth

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, I want to talk about standing in what is true for you. So it's impossible to stand for something and not be controversial. Having a perspective is inherently polarizing because there's always someone with a different perspective. This is what it means to live among other humans.

But what is true for us in this moment, in many ways is, is all we have. It doesn't necessarily mean it's subjectively right, but it's what we have. This also doesn't mean that what is true for you won't change. It most likely will. Just think about how many beliefs you had 10 years ago that are now completely different.

So we can use that recognition that we are evolving and changing to inform how we relate to and hold on to our present moment perspectives, encouraging us to hopefully show up with a little more curiosity toward another person's perspective. So my recommendation around this is, is to feel the empowerment to, to share what is true for you. This is an important part of recognizing your place on this planet, your place in the earth. To share your truth, listen to feedback since we are living among other people. We are listening to how does this land for other people then integrate that into our own self-concept of like, how do I make sense of this? And then we repeat the process.

And this is the journey of growth and being co-created through our internal world and in our external world. So I think a key takeaway though, is it's okay to have a perspective and that is what it means to be you. You are going to have your voice in the world, your opinions, and part of living with other people is to be interacting with their opinions and their perspectives as well. And we can use all of that to co-create our inner world and our co-evolution. So thank you for your practice.

Let's settle in for today's meditation.
