Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. So I just wanted to check in on you and see how you went with bringing more mindful speech into your day, likeI spoke about in yesterday's session. So, um, of course don't worry if you missed yesterday's session or if you forgot about it, you can always try this again today. So, one of the most popular and simple ways to remember the basic principles of mindful speech is by using the acronym, THINK. So T H I N K.

So you see the idea is to think before you speak. So T is for is it true. So we don't want to speak words that we don't know to be true. So that means that we're not speculating or making assumptions about people or talking about sort of our opinions. We're only speaking what we actually know to be true.

Yeah. So H is for, is it helpful. So a lot of gossip and criticism, for instance, it's not really helpful or nourishing for people. So we want to speak words that help create goodwill and connection as best we can. I, is for inspiring.

So in other words, will these words inspire uplift, nourish, and nurture others? Um, we want to, you know, really inspire what's best in people rather than creating sort of disconnection or pain. N, is it necessary? Sometimes we give our viewpoints, um, or we say something that we regret later. You know, we say things when they're not really needed. So sometimes it's good to just take a pause and think about whether something needs to be spoken. K is for is it kind.

You know, we don't want to speak words that create suffering. We want our words to be sources of love, comfort, and happiness. So T is it true. H is it helpful. I, is it inspiring.

N, is it necessary. K, is it kind. So the invitation for all of us is to see if we can apply these principles in the way we speak to others this week and beyond. Now, it might feel a bit tricky at first, but the more you practice these principles, the easier it gets until it just becomes a way of being. So the more you practice it, practice cultivating mindful communication, the more you naturally unlock your capacity for more authentic, loving, and joyful relationships.

It dissolves tensions, opens hearts and minds and creates true connection in an increasingly disconnected world.
