Tapping Into Peace of Mind

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today we'll explore how we can invite our minds to stop racing so we can experience some peace of mind. So it's quite tempting to start thinking about meditation practices as just another thing to ticke off your to-do list each day. But consider the perspective that in actual fact, mindfulness is the one time of our day that we stop all the doing. It's a time of letting go of all of that and simply being.

It's a time when there are no responsibilities, no pressures. There's nothing to do, nothing to fix, nothing to solve, nothing to achieve or plan and nothing to prove. We're simply resting in the moment. Think of it a little bit like a vacation for your mind, a time of totally letting go of all the agendas and problems and projects. And, you know, most of us are really busy these days, right.

We have full to do lists and very full calendars. We have responsibilities and roles to play. And so it might feel like meditation's just one more thing to do, you know, to become better, you know, like taking care of our body, going to the gym, trying to eat right. Now I have to meditate. But actually in many ways, meditation is more like a break from all the doing and all the busy-ness.

It's really a time to rest and let go. And when we allow ourselves that time and space to let go, we automatically cultivate peace of mind. And in time that calmer, clearer state of awareness naturally begins to flow into our whole day and our whole life. So. see if you can remember in today's meditation to just let the mind have a rest.

There really is nothing you need to achieve in that time. There's no special state to attain and there's nothing to do but be. So give yourself the gift of this time to unwind and have peace of mind and as always thank you for your practice and your presence here. And let's settling for today's meditation.
