Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about going through the creative process. Over the last couple of years I've been working on my first book and fortunately I finally finished. But as I was going through it, I found it to be quite a difficult creative birthing, you could say. And I came across this post online as I was writing that, uh, pretty accurately described the process for me.

And I'd love to share it with you. It said there were six stages to the creative process, six different mindsets you go through. The first one is, this is awesome. The second one is, this is tricky. The third one, this is crap.

The fourth one, I am crap. The fifth one, this might be okay. The sixth one, this is awesome. I have to say during most of my creative process with writing that book, I was between number four and five or three and four. This is crap.

I am crap. And fortunately I emerged on the other side, but I wanted to share this with you because we're all creators in some way, whether it's writing a book, creating a piece of art, creating a child in the world, or anything that we're were bringing into reality is a form of creation. And that process can be tough. It can start out great, exciting. This is awesome.

I'm liking this and it gets a little tricky, but then it can become really vulnerable. This is crap. I am crap, because it's something so closely connected to our heart and our being. And so I think it's helpful to know that other people go through this process. And if you're in the process of trying to create something however, big or small, know that it's okay to feel uncertain, to feel like maybe this isn't right yet, to be questioning or doubting yourself.

And that, that is all part of this process of creating something and bringing it to life. So hopefully this normalizes your experience and also reminds you that there's some light at the end of the tunnel. We're all creators and anything worth doing often comes with some difficulty, some confusion, some doubt, and some pain in the process. So take care of yourself, but trust the journey. Thank you for your practice.

I'll talk to you in the meditation and take care.
