Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today, I'm going to talk about honoring your own uniqueness. So, you know, this is actually a really important topic because as we go through life, we tend to worry quite a bit about what other people think of us. And we tend to constantly compare ourselves to others. And when we compare ourselves to others or try to be more like them, we often overlook or even reject the very unique parts of ourselves.
So when we get stuck in the worrying mind, the comparing mind, we tend to define ourselves solely through how we fit in with others, how we measure up compared to others. So we almost get stuck in a mindset of competing with others, wanting to be better than rather than less than. But if we can step out of the worrying and the comparing mind, we can actually make space to honor the extraordinary uniqueness that makes us who we are. You know in the words of Dr. Seuss, "Today, you are, you that's true than true, and there's no one alive who's youer than you." You know, every single one of us has our own unique personality, unique body, our unique strengths and quirks.
And we have our own unique story. Of course, we have our own unique life to live and we have to find our own way through it. No one else can really tell us what's right for us or authentic for us. So we have to find the courage to honor our own individuality and be our own authority. So, yes, we're all here walking side by side, as a humanity, traveling through this life together and we share the ups and downs of the human condition.
There's so much that we do share, but each and every one of us has our own uniqueness, our own particular qualities, our unique being. If we can learn to trust and honor that individuality, that uniqueness, and just be relaxed and confident with it, then we can let go of worrying, comparing, and competing, and we can start connecting in a more genuine way with both ourselves and others and with life. So today, as much as possible honor, your own uniqueness. If you find yourself starting to compare yourself to others, feeling less than, or better than, or holding back some part of yourself, because you're worried about what others might think, see if he can let go of all of that. And instead, just embracing and expressing your own one of a kind authenticity.
Wishing you a wonderful practice with this today. And as always, thank you for your practice and your presence here with us. And now let's settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
