Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about the importance of attunement. So let's think of attunement in a similar way that a musician thinks about tuning their instrument. So a musician must tune their instrument every day. It's always changing, often in the most subtle ways.
I remember when I played trumpet as a kid and through college, each day, I'd pick up my horn and I'd have to adjust it a little bit just because the temperature overnight, where it was stored, the humidity, all would impact the instrument. And then if I tried to play it the same way as I did yesterday, it would sound off. Well, our mind body is an instrument too. And it requires ongoing attunement to who we are right now. Yet many of us are trying to play an instrument that was tuned for a previous moment, often years ago.
So what would it be like to meet yourself with a beginner's mind each day? Asking, what is it like to be me today ?And what adjustment do I need to make to be more in alignment with the truth that is arising in me? That's a powerful practice and it can make sure that you're meeting yourself as you are each day, honoring the ever evolving truth of who you are. So give this a shot. Thank you for your practice.
