Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about envisioning. Even though many people view mindfulness as just being in the moment and not thinking about the past or the future, this is a very limited view of the practice. And I would argue it's an incorrect view. Mindfulness is much more about embracing the fullness of your human experience and responding with more awareness to what is arising, being more intentional.

Regarding future thinking, we can actually use thoughts about the future to inspire how we relate to the present. Future thoughts can direct our energy in the now. For this reason, I think it's really important to take time out of your day to dream. Envision a life that inspires you. Notice where your imagination and attention go when you do feel safe, comfortable, and grounded.

We can so easily box ourselves into a certain way of living, confined by self and culturally imposed limits without even realizing it. Intentional dreaming can re-energize and re inspire us to grow a life that we're excited about. It can also be scary to imagine having what you truly want. So don't let that discomfort be a sign that you're doing it wrong. Thank you for your practice.
