Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness.

Today we're going to explore what

the phrase 'don't know mind' means

and why it really is a superpower

when it comes to living mindfully.

So very often we get quite caught

up in trying to figure life out.

You know, we try maybe to figure out

the meaning of life is or what our

purpose is in the middle of it all.

Or maybe we try to decipher

and problem solve our way to

ultimate happiness or success.

Now often because we're so consumed

and distracted thinking about these

things, we miss out on experiencing

them, experiencing life directly, you

know, the unfolding moments of our lives.

We miss the mystery and the

wonder and the magic of it.

So rather than being caught up in a

storyline or a fixed view or opinion of

what we think life is or how it should

be, we can embrace this 'don't know' mind.

It's a mind that invites us to step

out of the storylines about life.

And instead, relax into the mystery

of the moment it's putting aside

the tendency to only know things,

in other words, through concepts.

And it uses a different kind of knowing.

It's experiencing life directly

without any interpretation

or judgment laid on top.

The 'don't know' mind is

curious, open and humble.

It condemns nothing.

And it's open to everything.

It's meeting the world, you

could say, with fresh eyes.

So, whereas our stories and beliefs

about life might feel comforting, they

can also bring with them a sense of

rigidity or false sense of security.

But the 'don't know' mind lets

go of rigidity and embraces

and befriends, the inherent

uncertainty and adventure of life.

So whether it's in meditation

or daily life, it's just

enough to be present right now.

You know your life isn't

a problem to be solved.

It's an experience to be lived.

And, you know, with every meditation

we're realizing this more and more fully.

You know, we're embracing the

'don't know' mind more fully.

But in daily life too, just see if you

can keep intending to embrace the 'don't

know' mind so that you can enjoy the

journey of your life without always

being so fixated on the destination.
