Hi, and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Today, I'm going to share with you a story about the seven wonders of the world. So the story goes that a group of school children were asked to list what they thought were the seven wonders of the world. So the children shouted out all the answers that they had, and the teacher started to tally their votes. So she wrote them down on the board.
Egypt's Great Pyramids, Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal, Grand Canyon, Empire State Building, St. Peter's Basilica and the Edinburgh Castle. This is how the votes came in. But while she was gathering the votes, the teacher did notice that there was one student that had been really dedicatedly writing things on a piece of paper, but she hadn't shared anything with the rest of the group. So the teacher said, "Do you want to tell us what you think are the seven wonders of world?" The girl looked a little bit shy.
Eventually she started to hold her list up and read. And what she read out was, "I think the seven wonders of the world are to see, to hear, to touch, to taste, to feel, to laugh and to love." The teacher fell quiet and smiled. "Thank you," she replied. I think in everyday life, we tend to take for granted things that are truly miraculous, like the fact that we can hear a beautiful piece of music or the sound of the birds, or that we can feel the warmth of the sun on our skin or the touch of a loved one, or that we can feel love. So think about today's Daily Mindfulness as kind of like a gentle reminder that the most grand and precious things in life are not those big structures built out of wood or carved in stone.
The greatest wonders are often right under our noses to be appreciated, enjoyed, and absolutely marveled at. As Jon Kabat-Zinn said, you know, "The little things, the little moments, they aren't little, they're your life.". So as always, thank you for your practice. Thanks for being here. And now let's settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
