Hi, and welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about giving yourself permission to feel what you're feeling. Most if not all of our internal tension is created by being in conflict with our inner experience. And most, if not, all of that conflict is created by not giving ourselves permission to feel fully without judgment, whatever it is we're feeling. When we create an internal space that can hold our experience with curiosity, love and compassion.
We create the conditions for deep peace and contentment. One of my favorite mantras to help us meet what we're feeling with acceptance and equanimity is: this moment, it's like this, taught by the meditation teacher, Vinny Ferraro. You've probably heard me share it before, because it is one of my favorites, but let's just try it out right now. Take a breath. Feel into whatever's present.
And then just say: this moment, it's like this. And see if that allows you to relax into what's here. This is a great practice and habit to get into throughout the day. And as you do this more, I think you'll find that giving yourself permission to feel what you're feeling is the ultimate feeling. Thank you for your practice and let's settle in for today's meditation.
