Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about realizing your dreams and what can sometimes get in the way of that. Now, I've shared before that it's okay to have dreams and for a number of them to not be realized. We can orient ourselves toward the process rather than just banking on the end point for our fulfillment. At the same time, there is something satisfying to achieving certain dreams and also looking at what might get in the way of the, the reaching of those dreams.
And I think at the core of many unrealized dreams is a pain or discomfort that we were unwilling to feel. The core of many unrealized dreams is a pain or discomfort we were unwilling to feel which can include some fear. As cliche as it is, most of the things we most desperately want are on the other side of something uncomfortable. If that weren't the case, then anyone, whoever wanted something would just move full speed ahead toward it and they'd have it. And we'd all have everything that we want.
But it turns out we can get stuck in a pain box, so to speak, in our zone of comfort. And the walls that keep us boxed in are, aren't necessarily actual walls, but they're the perceived pain that we might have to experience when going into new territory or having some uncomfortable conversations or walking alone for a period of time or taking a risk in a new path, a new job. All of that can bring up some discomfort in our system. And I think for many of us, when we have a sense of like a life that we might want to create, something we desire, something that really excites us, that even you could say, it feels like our karmic path, the thing we were meant to do. But there's, there's a discomfort.
There's a fear. There's a pain that we associate with potentially having to move in that direction, which is why I say at the core of many unrealized dreams, dreams is some form of discomfort that we're unwilling to feel. So I just invite you into that curiosity for yourself today. When you consider a life that you're potentially excited by, something that you might want to try, something you might want to do a dream you've always had. I don't believe we have to follow all of these things, but notice, are you at a, in a healthy relationship to the choosing to not pursue that dream.
Or is it because there's some fear that's arising, some discomfort that maybe at this point, you don't want to feel. But if you really leaned into it, you could see that, all right, this is just fear and I, and I could move forward anyway. I'm totally okay with us choosing not to go in a particular direction. What I'm more curious about though is all the reasons why we choose not to go in that direction. And if it is just some form of pain or discomfort that we've subconsciously avoided, what would it be like to stay a little bit more present to it and move forward anyway.
So something to consider. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.

Vidyamala’s tips on catching anger as it’s happening or about to happen are great - clear, practical, and doable.
- Vicoir
The little talks before the meditations are priceless. It's like I've found my peeps. The topics, the quotes, the goals—it all makes so much sense to me, things I want to be thinking and learning about. Most importantly, the meditations are kindness-centered, which I love. It feels like a new way to approach meditation.
- Lauren
Incredible, easy to navigate app. I would highly recommend this app to anyone who wishes to reduce stress and anxiety or simply as an aid to improve overall mental health.
- Kirtus
I love how the app gives me pointers to new things to explore.
- Lydia
So calm and soothing. I love the new bundle with Kelly Boys, she’s brilliant!
- EJ
Better than Headspace. I've had the paid version of both apps, and I must say I enjoy this one better.
