Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about no wasted time. One of the things I've observed in myself and as a teacher is that often when we have moments of insight, growth, realization, we can substitute it with regret, feeling as though if only I realized this sooner, I wouldn't have wasted all of that time. I want to push back on that firmly and say, none of it was wasted time. None of what happened beforehand was wasted time.
Everything that proceeded this moment of insight was necessary for you to have the realizations, the motivations, the fed-upness, and the awareness that you currently have. Even if in hindsight, it seemed like you could have done things differently, or you were swimming in your own baggage for a while or too long. Nonsense. You couldn't have, or else you would have. So instead of viewing what has happened in your past through the lens of, I really wasted my life, view it as patterns that needed to play out, to complete in order for you to be ready for something new.
You do not need to forfeit your arrival with regret. Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.
