Let stress move through you rather than get stuck inside of you with this short, simple grounding exercise.
Welcome. In this micro practice, you'll let stress move through you rather than get stuck inside of you with a quick grounding exercise. Okay. So let's begin in a comfortable position. You can allow your eyes to close.
And perhaps you're feeling a moment of stress right now. We are going to be a lightening rod for that stress. Here's how it goes. Feel the stress perhaps in your body or coming toward you from another person or from the world. And imagine as it comes into you as an energy and you resonate with it just as a lightning rod would.
You feel it. You can sense the energy, perhaps the tension of this stress. So we're not refusing stress, but now allow yourself to be a lightening rod where you ground the energy into the ground. So picture as if this stress coming at you, perhaps from another person, a work scenario, whatever it is, comes toward you. You feel it, you process it and then you ground it.
So allow the energy to not get stuck, but to move all the way through you into the ground. So wherever your feet are or your seat, or perhaps your hands on a chair. Will allow the stress to move through us and then into the surface that supports you into the ground. Feeling yourself now has a lightning rod for stress, not as a container for stress. And notice the difference.
We hope this helps you on your mindfulness journey.
