Hunt the good is a positive psychology

practice that trains your attention

to look at what is good in your

life, helping to cultivate more

joy, appreciation, and gratitude.

It's something you can do as

your own dedicated practice.

Three minutes, five minutes, ten minutes

in a meditation or something you can do

throughout your day in a more casual way.

What it involves is simply looking

for what is good in your experience.

So often we're inclined to focus on

what is not good, what's going wrong,

all the things that need to be fixed.

This is our brains wiring.

So hunt the good is a training to

also orient toward what is good right

now that maybe I'm just passing by.

Again, you can imagine doing this as a

three minute meditation practice where

you just think of everything that's

good, that can feel quite good to do.

And you can do it while you're

going about your normal day.

Periodically asking, what can

I notice that's good right now?

Chances are you'll notice.

It feels good to hunt the good.

It can be a really useful

way to boost your mood.
