Mindful Goal-Setting

On Day 2 of our Mindful Goal-Setting Workshop, we’re going to show you how to imagine possibilities from a place of honest acceptance and genuine gratitude.

Set a timer for 15-20 minutes (you can do more if you like!). Take a few deep breaths and reflect on or journal about these things:

  • As you think back on this past year, sit with the gratitude exercise you did yesterday. Think about the wisdom gained, the love received, and the moments you felt your very best.
  • Let go of the phrase I should …
  • Instead think about 3 words that describe how you want to feel — in body, mind, spirit, work, relationships, or your day-to-day life.
  • Now pay attention to what could be possible if you were called forward into this next year by those 3 words. So not pushing yourself (that’s “should”), but rather being drawn by things that excite you.
  • Make a note of 4-5 possibilities that come to mind and that feel the most free, exciting, and inviting to you.

When the timer goes off, take a few more deep breaths to close out this practice.

Tomorrow we’re going to talk about how to mindfully visualize your possibilities to bring them to life and make them feel more real to you (and to your brain).
