How to Develop Patience

In this meditation, we'll explore strategies to help you become more patient in your work, relationships, parenting, and daily life.

Let's start by settling into a comfortable posture, which could be sitting, lying down or standing. If it feels okay to do so, you can let your eyes close. And we'll take one deep breath together. In through the nose. And slowly out through the mouth.

Inviting the jaw to relax. The shoulders can be at ease. And the hands on the belly. Letting the breath fall back into its natural rhythm. And in this meditation were going to work with cultivating patience, and at the heart of that is being able to be with the moment as it is.

So the majority of this meditation will be in silence. My encouragement will be to explore being very still in your body. And when you notice that desire to move or to shift or for it to be over, just practice relaxing into that and bring the attention back to the breath. In this way, you're training yourself to be with the moment as it is. I'll give you some time in silence to practice and see you at the finish line.

Noticing what you're feeling in your body and your mind. If there's any sense of impatience or discomfort, practicing being with that to see that we can be with it and not react to it. So as we come to a close, let's take one deep breath together. In through the nose. Out through the mouth.

And when you're ready, you can start to move again and allow your eyes to open. Great job. So as you go about your day today, notice when impatience arises and instead of immediately reacting to it, become curious about it, bring your awareness to it and see that, Oh, you can stay here with it. You can stay here with it. So thank you for your practice.

And until we talk again, take care.
