Take some time to connect with your calm centre and set your intention for the day.
This is a morning intention setting meditation. This meditation will help you cultivate inner strength, clarity, and a calm center so that you can meet each day with the very best of who you are. So to begin with, just beginning to settle into a comfortable posture. And, and when you're ready, allowing your eyes to lightly close. Just dropping your awareness now, right down into the contact points between your body and the floor or of the body and the chair, the cushion you're sitting on, all the places of contact where body meets the surface beneath.
Just feeling the sensations here and now. And then gently drawing the focus to the rhythm of your breathing. You don't have to control or change the breath in any way. Just tuning into the sensations as the breath arises and passes, like shifting tides. So I'm going to ask three questions now and then give you a space to contemplate the answers.
The first question is, what is it that matters most to you today? You know, we can so easily get caught up in the momentum and the headlong rush of daily life, finding ourselves, just putting one foot in front of the other. But Hey, you're only going to live this day once. So what is it that matters most? The second question is what would you like to let go of today? Are you holding any resentments, regrets, grudges, old beliefs, or thoughts that no longer really serve you? What would you like to let go of. And the final question is, who do you choose to be today? In other words, what are the values you choose to express and live in the world today, in your relationships, in your interactions, in your work, in your rest, who do you choose to be? You might mentally repeat to yourself, I choose to be. And then let the answers come.
Do you choose to be loyal? Do you choose to be kind? Courageous? Who do you choose to be? And then just dropping awareness right back into the breath. Taking a deep breath in. Steady breath out. And as you prepare now to reconnect with the world around you and going about your day, just now, perhaps making an intention to take this awareness and this clarity of purpose with you. And remember that if at any time today you find yourself caught up, stressed, reactive or off center, you can always take a pause, take a deep, slow conscious breath.
And then once again, reconnect and remember what matters most. Have a wonderful day.
